 The Knitting Mafia

I've been wanting to create the Knitting Mafia for quite some time now. Truth be told, ever since the whole "knitting boom" started. Don't get me wrong (and please I don't want to open any angry knitty e-mails) I'm all for new knitters (I really am), what I am not down for is the frilly, furry, acrylic-ness, the second-cousins who should have been removed, of the knitting family. If you are down for that, Great. But you wont find any of that here. EVER!

What I am for...the history and the physics of the whole thing. I love shaping, how it's shaped, and why certain sts make that shape.

When you sit down with two wooden sticks (Wooden sticks for God's sake) and some (for lack of a better description) animal hair, you can create anything. How crazy is that? There is definitely a seat in Heaven for whoever sat down and figured that out!!!!!

It just makes me feel close to my ancestors, doing the same things that they would have done. Whether they may have called it a stitch and bitch I'm not sure.
